HORTENSE — Roy Eugene Heasley, 91 of Hortense, died Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Heasley was born August 7, 1929, in Greenville, Pa., to Enoch Clarence and Marie J. Vath Heasle. He graduated in 1948 from Penn High School and attended Youngstown University in Youngstown, Ohio. The Air Force Veteran served his country from 1948-52 in the Korean Conflict. Heasley was a 50-year member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, a 50-year member and past master of the Eureka Lodge 290, member of the French Creek Boy Scouts Council, advisor to the DeMolay Chapter, and a 50-year member and past commander of the American Legion Post 240. Since 2009, Heasley has made his home in Georgia where he became a member of the Nahunta United Methodist Church. His parents and his brother, Robert Clarence Heasley, preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Blanche Jane Dodds Heasley; two sons, Roy Edwin Heasley and Andrew Jerome Heasley; and three grandchildren, Katrina, Cara, and Ty Edwin. A private family interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery, Slippery Rock, Pa. Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup is in charge of arrangements.
