A veteran law enforcement officer is being remembered by his peers as an honest, loving person who lived out his Christian beliefs and was an excellent role model for children. Captain Danny Wayne Norris died Sunday morning, September 6, 2020, at Landmark Hospital in Savannah.
Norris had suffered a brain aneurysm in late July.
A 2013 graduate of the Police Academy, Norris began his career with the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office.
He worked part-time with the Hoboken Police Department earning the rank of sergeant. Norris was currently employed by Brantley County Board of Education as an SRO Captain (School Resource Officer) working on the Brantley County Middle School campus after starting at Hoboken Elementary.
Dr. Kim Morgan, superintendent of Brantley County Schools, said the community was blessed by the presence of Norris and will miss him terribly.
