MILLWOOD — Mr. Larry Edward Bagbey, 80, died Monday evening, September 7, 2020, at his residence. Bagbey was born in Dongola, Mo., but he has resided in Millwood for the past 17 years. He retired from the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Chief after 21 years having served in the Vietnam War. Bagbey was formerly employed by Schlumberger Oilfield Services in Houston, Tx. for 10 years, and Photo Circuits in Peachtree City, Ga. He was a member of Millwood Baptist Church. Bagbey was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Bagbey and Virginia Gallener Bagbey; daughter, Gretchen Maria Bagbey; and his sister, Gail Moffett. Claude Olford Guest, Jr.

HORTENSE — Claude Olford Guest, Jr., 74 of Hortense, died Friday, September 25, 2020, at Altamaha Healthcare Center in Jesup. Guest was born September 12, 1946, to the late Claude and Rosalee Guest in Brunswick. As soon as he was big enough, Guest went to work on a commercial fishing boat with his father. He worked construction for a period of time in Jacksonville and then returned to Brunswick to work for King and Prince Seafood for 30 years. Guest was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Willis and Mary Head; and numerous cousins. BRUNSWICK — Janice Lee Rozier, 65 of Brunswick, passed away Monday morning, October 5, 2020, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness. Born in Waycross, her parents were Foss Rozier and Willa Davis Rozier. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, James Pellicer and Van Pellicer; and a sister, Connie Pellicer. Mrs. Rozier was a retired LPN and loved and adored her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, swimming, and fishing. WAYCROSS — Mrs. Iris Jean Rowell, 85 of Waycross, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 5, 2020, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., following an extended illness. Mrs. Rowell was born in Waycross to the late Herbert Bradley Purvis and Ernestine Barnhill Purvis. She attended Waycross High School and was a member of Second Baptist Church. Some of her hobbies include traveling, cooking, dancing, listening to music, and reading. NAHUNTA – Gordon D. Wright, 98 of Nahunta, passed away Wednesday morning, October 7, 2020, at the Hospice House in Waycross after an extended illness. Wright was born in Tell City, Ind. He is preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Christine Campbell. Wright was a retired teacher for the Brantley County Board of Education and served in the United States Army during WWII. SCREVEN — Dwight Stanfield, 83 of Screven, died Wednesday, October 7, 2020. The Pierce County native had lived in Screven most of his life and was a member of the Screven United Methodist Church. He was a retired Wayne County High School Vocational Instructor and enjoyed all outdoor activities. BRUNSWICK — Barbara Powell Shuman, 86 of Brunswick, passed away Wednesday, October 7 at Magnolia Manor of St. Simons Island under the care of Hospice of the Golden Isles. Mrs. Shuman loved the staff of Magnolia Manor and Hospice, and her family is eternally grateful for the loving care she received as a resident there. She was born December 12, 1933, in Pensacola, Fla., to Thelma Maudell and Frank Richard Powell.
