By RICK HEAD Publisher CANEY BAY — Bacon County scored on five consecutive possessions spanning the second and third quarters en route to a 42-0 victory spoiling homecoming festivities for Brantley County. During halftime ceremonies, senior Miss Sydnie Middleton was crowned 2020 Queen. Senior Bae Allen was announced as King. The Red Raiders (3-1), winners of three straight, got their offense rolling on the second possession of the game. Bacon County piled up 303 yards of its 330 total yards on the five scoring drives. “I’m shocked at our performance,” said Brantley County head coach Geoff Cannon after his team dropped to 0-4. “We had perhaps our best week of practice this season, so I don’t know why we didn’t perform. I’m very surprised and disappointed. “We had no distractions that usually come with homecoming week. We were very focused and disciplined at practice and lost our focus and discipline during the game.” Brantley County’s first offensive series ended with a punt after three-and-out. The Red Raiders’ Kyjauan McNorris returned the Camron Allen punt 71 yards for a score tight-roping the Bacon County sideline for a 6-0 lead just 1:19 into the game.
