Commissioner Davison says no contract has been signed to privatize EMS

By RICK HEAD Publisher A Brantley County commissioner called a rumor circulating of EMS services being privatized “fake news” and another said “no contract has been signed.” Commissioners Brian Hendrix and Randy Davison are urging residents not to believe everything they read (social media) nor hear (rumors) in regards to a “done deal” with Grady Memorial Hospital to replace local EMS services during the Tuesday, July 7 work session. Hendrix’s statement came after EMS Director Maureen Orr told the commissioners, “the rumor mill is telling my people they are being taken over by Grady. That’s not being up front and honest with them.” Davison’s response came to Bill Bennett’s questioning of the signing of a contract presented by Grady in 2018.
