HORTENSE – Francis James Dishey, 81 of Hortense, passed away Monday morning, April 27, 2020 at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Bridgeport, Conn., his parents were Joseph Dishey and Margaret Sarah Lally Dishey. Dishey was a retired truck driver and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a jack of all trades and loved tinkering with things in his spare time and enjoyed picking on people. Survivors include his wife, Irene Ann Osborne Dishey of Hortense; a son, Francis James “Butch” Dishey, Jr., of Conn.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl Corrado of Conn., Laurie Kennedy (Mike) of Conn. and Kim Collins of Hortense; eight grandchildren, Brenton, Christopher, Alissa, Michael, Jenna, Amanda, Brian and Chad; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Novah; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Dishey of Iowa and Jackie Dishey (Joan) of Conn.; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Due to the COVID-19, the family will have a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
