HICKOX – Buddy Crews, 64 of Hickox, passed away Monday evening, April 20, 2020 at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Nahunta, his parents were Raymond Crews and Estelle Howell Crews. He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Macie Johns and Rosie Mae Dubose; and three brothers, Leonard Crews, James Crews and Framan Crews. Crews was a heavy equipment operator for Rowland Site Prep and was of the Church of God faith. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, riding dirt roads and just having fun. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Betty Sue “Susie” Crews of Hickox; two sons and daughters-inlaw, Jeremy Crews (Melissa) of Nahunta and John Morris (Brinte) of Miami; a daughter and sonin- law, Alisha Lane (Junior) of Nahunta; four grandchildren, Madison Lane, Gavin Crews, Kaitlyn Lane, and Jonathan “Bubba” Crews; a brother and sister-in-law, Horace Crews (Diane) of Alma; his special dog, Max; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Due to COVID-19, the family will be having a private graveside service Thursday, April 23, 2020 at New Hope Cemetery. Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
