HOBOKEN — Barbara Ann Hopton, 77 of Hoboken, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 9, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross after an extended illness. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., her parents were Robert and Merle Williams. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Penny Davis and Linda Flake; and two brothers, Robert Williams and Richard Williams. Mrs. Hopton was a shrimper on the Miss Rosa Boat for many years and a jack of all trades. She loved her grandchildren, sewing, watching soap operas, making flower arrangements, and talking on her phone. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Duane Hopton(Frances) and Douglas Darnell Hopton (Retha) all of Hoboken; two daughters, Deborah Delores Macaluso (fiancé Steve) of Valdosta and Dawn Donnise Crews of Hoboken; several grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, John Williams (Lori) of Okeechobee, Fla.; a sister, Trudie McCormick of Waycross; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will be having a celebration of life Saturday, May 30, 2020, Mrs. Hopton’s residence, 2042 Saddle Club Rd Hoboken GA 31542. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
